Join us in the shop for this Intermediate Crochet project: Fawning Over You Sweater by Briana K Designs! Using the cozy Cascade 220 Superwash yarn, we will focus on stranded colorwork with top-down construction, while working in the round and mixing stitch-use. During this multi-week class you’ll build the skills and confidence to craft a wardrobe-worthy garment you'll love showing off.

Class Overview

  • Duration: 6 Sessions over 7 Weeks (Includes a 1-week mid-class break so you have plenty of time to work on the body!) / 2 Hours per class

  • Class Size: Limited to 6 students for dedicated, step-by-step guidance

  • Skill Level: Intermediate Crocheter: You should be comfortable with basic crochet stitches, counting stitches, and working in the round.

What You’ll Learn

  • The Split Single Crochet Stitch

  • Stranded Colorwork in Crochet (chart reading, managing yarn floats, and tension control)

  • Working in the Round & Yoke Increases for a perfectly shaped circular yoke

  • Splitting for Sleeves & Body and working underarm chains

  • Finishing Techniques including weaving in ends, and blocking

Weekly Breakdown

  • Week 1 - Swatching & Collar Setup: Select your color combination, check gauge, review pattern, learn the split single crochet stitch, and start your collar

  • Week 2 - Yoke & Stranded Colorwork: Learn to read colorwork charts, manage multiple strands of yarn, and execute yoke increases.

  • Week 3 - Finishing Yoke & Separate the body: This pattern requires blocking the yoke before finishing the rest of the body.

  • Catch-Up Break Week! Take this extra time at home to stitch away on the body of your sweater at your own pace.

  • Week 4 - Lower Hem & Pattern Motifs: Resume class to work the lower body colorwork pattern and finish off the bottom ribbing.

  • Week 5 - Sleeves & Cuffs: Pick up stitches for the sleeves, work sleeve decreases, and work the colorwork sleeve cuffs.

  • Week 6 - Finishing & Blocking!: Weave in ends cleanly and block your sweater so the colorwork lays flat and smooth!
